Write a mini masterpiece inspired by a mini masterpiece! Submissions due by May 31. Writers age 6+ welcome to participate

  • Select a piece that inspires you from the Tiny Art Show in the Langdon Divers Gallery and write a submission for the Tiny Writing Contest!
  • Submissions must be 300 words or fewer. Short stories, poems, song lyrics, etc. are all welcome.
  • Pieces can be turned in using this online form (click here) May 1-31 or they can be dropped off at the Help Desk in the library. Submissions must be turned in by 5:59 pm on May 31. Physical submissions must include author's name, email and/or phone, age category and title in order to be considered.
  • Pieces and titles of pieces must be appropriate for all ages.
  • Submissions must not be generated by artificial intelligence.
  • Library staff reserves the right to reject any submissions that do not follow these guidelines.
  • By submitting your piece, you are giving Fond du Lac Public Library permission to publicly post and promote it.
  • Pieces and images of the art that inspired them will be posted on the Library's social media account in June. 
  • Age categories
    • Kids 6-12
    • Teens 13-18
    • Adults 19+
  • Prizes per age category
    • Best in show
    • Library staff choice

Judges are local educators and writers. Writing related prizes will be awarded to the winners in each age category.

One entry per person. Staff and family of staff may not enter the contest.

The Main Library is 1 block east of Main Street in downtown Fond du Lac.  Entrances are located on both the north and south sides of the building.
