Idea Studio - Shop

Take the required training session to earn your badge for use of the Idea Studio's Mayku Multiplier.

We've got molds, they're multiplying!

Pressure-formed molds, that is!  Introducing the Mayku Multiplier, the latest addition to Idea Studio's range of awesome equipment.

The Multiplier is a desktop pressure former that heats up thermoplastic and exerts 4 tons of force to create molds with details up to 0.0004mm thick (the thickness of ink on top of paper).  Molds can then be used for a variety of applications and casting materials - from chocolate to concrete, to Jello and cosplay armor!  Create prototypes, final parts, or continue to cast objects with high quality, re-usable molds!

In this class, you will receive training on the Idea Studio's Mayku Multiplier to earn your badge, which will allow you to use the Multiplier at your convenience when the Idea Studio is open. The Multiplier can create molds out of three types of thermoplastic sheets, using a variety of materials as templates. This free training session includes machine operation and template design basics.

For ages 18 and over. Registration is required.

Space is strictly limited; please cancel in advance if you are unable to attend.

Other times available by appointment. Contact ideastaff@fdlpl.org with your request.
