Stop by Chapter 52 Bookstore to meet author Terri Schlack, who will be at the store from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Schlack is the author of the book, "Afterward: Murder of a Soldier."
About the book:
Afterward is the unique story of the Schlack family's life after their oldest son is murdered senselessly at Fort Hood, TX in 2009. The heartbreak of burying a son, the unforeseeable emotional and physical pain, the tensions of experiencing a military court and the disbelief and frustration when the sentence is handed down is difficult to deal with. The events and experiences after the killing is something never expected. Why their son was killed makes those who know the story see him as a hero.
About the author:
Terri Schlack grew up in the Fox Valley area, and after college, got married. Due to Rich's military career, they lived in Kansas, Texas and Germany. Along the way, two sons were born. Writing was a sideline hobby for her writing poems, plays, parodies, short stories mainly for educational purposes but also entertainment for whatever reason. In 2010, Terri retired after 35 years of teaching finishing her career in Fond du Lac. Currently she volunteers at the Military Veterans Museum & Education Center in Oshkosh by, among other things, being editor of the museum newsletter and recently published a book about the museum's history and various vehicles and artifacts.
