Needs some tips about overcoming your genealogy brick wall? Looking for research advice on where to find information? Ask a genealogist! Join us for a panel-style Q&A session to answer some of your questions. A small group of experienced genealogists will be available to provide insight, advice, and expertise on family history research. Subject expertise includes military history, digitization, mapping, publishing, local history, library resources, and more!
This is intended for genealogists of all abilities. No registration required!
Note: This is not a research consultation or one-on-one research assistance. Questions should not be overly in-depth and will be limited to those that can be reasonably answered in a short response by the panelists. This panel will be mediated by library staff to ensure that questions fall within the scope of the program and participants are able to equally benefit from participation. Questions will be limited to the following categories: what sources and records to look for, where to find records, how to request information, how to organize research, common terminology, how to use genealogical sources and records, how to cite information. Other topics may be permitted as deemed appropriate by library staff and panelists. Please contact reference@fdlpl.org for more information.
