Cut & Paste Club is for anyone who is interested in making and learning about collage, while meeting other fellow creatives. Collage describes both the technique and the resulting work of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface. The Idea Studio has a good collection of used and recycled books, scrap book paper and magazines available to cut up and collage with. Please feel free to bring any extra materials or supplies to use for yourself or to share with others.
Each meeting will feature a new technique or project for patrons to learn, or else you can just come and create your own thing.
For the month of July we will be using various paper and ephemera to create a one of a kind simple sketchbook. After the sketchbooks have been assembled, patrons can add whatever they want to fill them. They can be used for sketching, collaging, journaling, or whatever you can create with them.
No registration is required for this event, and it is open to everyone, but children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Feel free to email if you have any questions to ideastaff@fdlpl.org
